Have you wondered what goes on behind the door at Whitworth Men’s Shed? Come and see for yourself at our 2024 Open Day!
On Sunday 16th June the doors will be open to the public to show off the varied activities on offer and talk to shedders about what they do.
The Shed is open throughout the week delivering practical and social sessions. It is an important place for men to meet and chat over a brew. Members also make wooden items including bird boxes, seasonal decorations, and garden planters. These are sold locally to raise money for shed funds.
Come along to our Open Day and see what we are all about. Come for a chat and share your interests and skills with like-minded men in a friendly open environment.
As well as finding out about the Shed activities there will be a craft sale with a variety of hand-made items available. There will also be used tools and bric-a-brac stalls. Tea and coffee will also be available
Whitworth Men’s Shed is open to men living in and around the Whitworth and Rossendale area. If you or a family member might be interested in becoming a member please come to our Open Day and say hello!
“Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills, and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter!” UKMSA
